Trip Summary

This trip was full of surprises right from the beginning. Some of the surprises were somewhat frightening, but we survived.

The first surprise was a piece of wood flying toward us just after leaving home. We were surprised to see the lights of Las Vegas from such a great distance. It was a surprise to find that we had nearly the whole KOA in Needles, California from which to choose a campsite. One of the scariest surprises was our slow, night drive in a Texas snow storm. Probably one of the nicest surprises was meeting a beautiful young family, from Texas, along the highway in Oklahoma.

It was a surprise to find out that the actual Apollo 13 command module would be located in a Kansas space-museum soon. There were the surprisingly beautiful sunsets and the surprise of crazy drivers as well as mud storms along our route home to California. Our arrival back at the Needles KOA provided us with another surprise. Our last surprise was caused by a problem with the motorhome cruise control.

Best of all, it was no surprise that it felt good to get home after another very nice RV Fun Trip.
