Special Anniversary The main reason we came to Wichita was to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of Kay' parents, George and Lois. We had attended their 50th anniversary and it seemed as if not enough time had passed for the 60th to be here already. Jim had put together a very nice event for the 50th which was held at the local church. Everyone attending were dressed up and a nice sit-down dinner had been prepared. Many friends and relatives attended making the celebration very special. I was wondering what Jim would have planned for the 60th that might equal the previous event. As it turned out, a very low-key dinner had been planned to be held at a local restaurant. Only immediate family would attend. I thought this was a really great plan. We went to the Piccadilly Grill a few blocks from Jim and Donna's place. Kay and I had never eaten at this restaurant, so I was looking forward to the meal. I was in for a pleasant surprise as the food turned out to be very good and reasonably priced. We had a very nice time with a lot of reminiscing about "old times" and "good times," sometimes they were the same. There is a lot to talk about during a discussion that spans so many years. I am happy to say that I was witness to much of that time period. I think that George and Lois enjoyed the informal setting and the small group of their closest family members. Even though we were in a restaurant, it almost felt like a meal at home. We took our time making for a leisurely celebration.
