A Summer Road Trip to Wichita
June/July 2005
Stormy Weather 8 photos

Below you will see all of the pictures I took during a thunderstorm in Wichita. This event went from exciting to somewhat scary at times. A wall cloud formed a very short distance where we were located. Even though a wall cloud can develop into a twister, fortunaely this cloud didn't quit make it to the final stage of becoming a tornado. Even so, it was very exciting watching it overhead while standing in the open doorway of Jim and Donna's garage.

The clouds looked as if we were watching a boiling liquid from below

The boomers are coming our way
A long lasting lightening bolt with very LOUD thunder

It gets very dark directly under a thunderstorm, even in the late afternoon

The neighbor lost half of one of their trees

Jim will be replacing this tree soon
