Our Second Annual
Crab Fishing Adventure

September 1999

Summary
Last year I said that if I'd known what was ahead, I probably would not have gone on the trip. This year I knew what to expect and I was looking forward to the trip with great anticipation.

I was a little concerned about my ability to drive the boat as well as Tom drove it last year. Even though I didn't do as well at the helm as Tom, I was very happy with how I was able to put the boat over most of our crab pots. I will do better next time. By the end of the week, I had developed enough skill to find my way through an obstacle course of floats and ropes marking the location of crab traps dropped to the bottom of the bay.

Last year I said I would now be able to put "Crab Fisherman" on my resume, now I can make that read "Experienced Crab Fisherman." Okay, so I've only had a little over a year of experience, but that is equal to a decade in "Computer years."

There were many opportunities to spend time in the company of friends engaged in good conversation. I especially enjoyed the road warrior stories told by Tom, Harry, and Wally about their driving experiences in a bygone era.

Even though most of the roads we drove this year were the same as last year, much of what we saw was new because of the different weather and atmospheric conditions. Also, it was nice to find a new route between I-5 and the ocean. I saw places I would like to go back when we can spend some time doing some sightseeing.

I left the best for last. As always, the most important part of our trip was having good friends with which to share a really fun experience. I look forward to our next RV Fun Trip together.
